Notes:	Water was cool, but my full suit was fine. Pilot Wechel. Went with Caroline (buddy) and Farrah - who had taken the resort course at Qualton Club (where we stayed). Farrah did great, but she wore a shorty - we ASKED for a full suit, not what we got :( . Farrah was a bit cold. Sunny and clear, 1-2 foot waves. Most of the dive was at 35-40 feet - dipped to 52, so calculated PG at 50. Saw and touched pufferfish, saw spotted eel, 3' trumpet fish, tiger grouper, several yellow sting rays, cabezon (looked like a rock!), shovel nose guitarfish. Also saw several dolphins on the trip out. Beach time between dives. Islands are sharp jutting rocks with many tunnels and caves. Also saw clumps of coral and colorful fern-type sea fans, sea urchins. Dove with Divemaster, Caroline, Farrah, and 3 other resort course students.

Notes:	Same trip and site as #42. Farrah's mask flooded completely (hair in the way), she was calm, did very well communicating her problem. She had trouble clearing - breathing out mouth, and not tilting head back. Divemaster took her up, fixed problem, brought her down again. She did GREAT! Saw seahorse, lots of schools of small fish. Most of dive at 35-40 feet - dipped to 52, so calculated PG at 50.

Notes:	Dove with Caroline, Farrah, Divemaster and Alyssa - who was fun-diving, but also worked at Pacific Scuba. Farrah did much better - no problems except cold (she had on full suit plus a shorty, no boots or gloves). Weight was too much. Reverse dive profile - Farrah dove for about 30 minutes then went up - the rest of us then continued deeper. Thermoclines at 25, 40, 60 feet. Bottom temp was cool, but OK in my full suit. Visibility was better deeper, away from the surge and sand. Waves were 1-2 foot, and moderate surge. Multilevel: 1min@75':A ; 3min@70':B ; 2min@60':C ; 13min@50':I ; 22min@40':O.

Notes:	Same trip as #44 - Farrah did well again and dove for 45 minutes before she and Alyssa went up and started eating lunch (grrrr!). 1-2 foot seas, moderate surge. Stayed more shallow to stay warmer, so that Farrah could dive longer. Weight was too much. Poor visibility due to sand and silt and green stuff. Saw longnose butterfly fish, snowflake eel, king angel fish, giant damselfish, lots of different pufferfish, many sea urchins - long black spines and "eye" in the middle, squirrelfish, giant hawkfish, California scorpionfish, Cortez angelfish, barred serrano, 1 to 3 foot trumpet fish - some with red tint and stripes, some with green.

Notes:	SNORKEL ONLY. On our way returning from dives 44/45, we sighted some manta rays. One swam straight toward us then under the boat. 10 to 20 foot wingspan on some of them. Very graceful. I got in (mask and fins, no suit) to approach. I got very close, swimming behind one, seeing it's tail, then swimming along with it, over it's wing. Beautiful!! Majestic! My good experience encouraged Farrah, Caroline, and Alyssa to get in. They approached another. It rose and tossed Alyssa in the air, scraping her leg with it's shark-like (sand paper) skin, and thwapped Caroline on the leg with its fin. No one seriously hurt, but a testimony as to the silent strength of the manta.
